We stopped in the town of Najera today. It was quite old and lovely
It is a rainy morning walk today. It poured all morning and we are muddy, but it was a beautiful walk. It is not hot and my poncho seems to be working well to keep me and my pack dry
We stopped for breakfast It is easy to see that a cured ham sandwich will go a long way on a days walk. I purchase one in the morning and eat it throughout the day. Thank heaven we are walking 10-15 kilometers a day. I can't get use to a breakfast like this when I get home.
I am enjoying coffee break with my new walking friend, Nancy, from Portland, Oregon. We get along well and walk at a similar speed.
I will settle in Azofra today. It is a very small town and I won't have wi-fi at the albergue. It is a small farm town. I am sitting in the square this evening drinking a glass of wine. There is wi-fi here in the middle of town. It is siesta time so almost everyone if off napping. I have been surprised at the sheer number of flies in the country. ( We are spoiled in Washington state, there are very few if any flies. We have some mosquito's, but I (Lark) also miss the fact that we don't have fire flies, no dragon flies and the twilight sound crickets.)I am always surprised to see all the free flowing water for all the pilgrims.
Leischen is sending more pictures now. This is her walking down the road on her way to Azofra. She tried skyping last night, but the internet connections are slow and pictures are hard to send. She tells me that there will be no internet tomorrow.
Mike She should do a travelogue of this trip.
Carol Pictures are wonderful!!!! I am enjoying this travelogue Lark!!!
