Navarette

Leischen is in Navarrete today.

It was a very industrial walk today.   Not the nicest scenery.
But we are here and we are in a nice albergue.  I am off to explore the city.

I found a store and am buying apples.

Are they any good ( We grew apples for 23 years, I am picky)

We haven't eaten them yet, They are for tomorrow.   There are hardly any fruits and veggies in the restaurants.  Hardly any at all.  Most sandwiches don't even have a tomato on them

I would have thought that in this farming area you would have them abundantly.

Not at all.  Lots of bread and fried food.  I have to eat tapas to get anything new and different.

Leischen is pointing to the castle at the top of the hill.   She and Nancy are joking about how all the rock had to be hauled to the top of the hill and how much he paid some serf to do it for him.

Leischen is trying a new foot remedy for her blisters.    This is a local favorite.

Looking at the fields below, I would think that there might be a few table grapes, but it is only July.   My bushes at home are barely more than the size of a pea.   Enjoy those apples Leischen.

Comments:

Carol - Glad to hear the news of Leischen.  Such a bummer about fruits and veggies.
